As I said yesterday my bog, this blog, was selected along with two others to receive an award as  best blog about woodlands. How many woodland blogs there are I do not know. Anyway still nice to be selected and it has the added benefit of prizes and my box of goodies arrived today.

This is what was inside.

There is a certificate which I can get framed and add to my collection.. Regular attendance at Sunday school, 100yards Breast stroke, Cycling proficiency grade 2, and Second place in the Swaffham go cart grand prix 1998.  Very proud of that last one as my son came third. This certificate will take pride of place though.

Also an interesting book, about a 4 acre woodland in Henley on Thames. It is written very much in the same style as my blog, or perhaps I should say my blog is in the same style as the book given that the author is a F.R.S. Well lets just say they both have a similar style. This is accompanied by a very usefull hard back note book to keep records in.

And finally a Silky pruning saw. I do not have one of these and I am sure it will prove very usefull over the years. Especially as our wood is now regenerating and quite a lot of pruning activity will be needed over the next 5 to 10 years.
