This time unwelcome, youngsters I suspect and on last Friday night (12th July) They had a fire outside my ‘office’ / hide, they left behind litter, 3 Haribo packets and an empty Rizla packet…. the large sort which strongly suggests something to me. Also they left behind a printed ticket for a bus journey from Chepstow to London and return on which was a name and an email address. I have contacted the email address and informed them of the trespass.
Most annoying was that they tried to set light to my hide in several places, all they achieved was to melt the fabric but had it caught properly then extensive damage to the wood could have resulted.
I have informed local residents who will be watching out for any further visits and as I said in my email to the Lady whose name was on the ticket, if it happens again then I will pass all the information on to the Police.
On a happier note two new plant species have decided to grow, one is Common Centaury and the other is Tufted Vetch.
- Common Centaury
- Tufted Vetch
Finally on a sad note a fox was presumably hit by a car and ended up just behind the gate…. The smell is quite strong and no doubt will be around for some weeks.

So sorry to hear this Alan, I did hear voices in the woods (but assumed it was your family camping again) – I will be sure to check if I hear anything again.
Regards
Juloe
Many thanks.
